Idk I love in Brookings you might want to call them. They are very friendly and accommodating. Good luck. Happy V.D
Debra Wilson is right closed on Monday but the one down the harbor is A Griffs, they use to own the ones in Winchester by the bay but is still serve good seafood too, we love all those places Sarap!!!
They are a very busy unusually small restaurant layout that makes any distraction a problem in their ability to serve customers. They sometimes are blunt, but the quality and amount of food trumps a little shortness. The taste of their desserts is a stong draw and they sell out early. I did not find their sometime shortness enough of a negative to not frequent that restaurant.
Yes for you Spiceman 46 easy access ones that needed it most a spot right up front and they will help you out. Crab meits are delicious.
Expect great tasting crab meat and fresh baked bread
I think the fish & chips reviews are a bit overrated. It was ok but I’ve been in much better places (I have to say I prefer when it’s crispy, which is not the case). However, the place is very nice and somehow authentic. The staff is superfriendly. Desserts are amazing!
Stopped on the way home from camping trip. We just saw it on the side of the road and thought the name was funny. The place it pretty small but cute. Food was good. We stuck with the fish&chips, you can’t screw up those. It was a bit busy when we stopped by and it was confusing if we should go to the register and order food or pick a table (maybe there is a sign and we missed it). But the server (later I figured out she was the person in charge/owner(?)) that was bringing food around got very annoyed by us standing there. Well, if you know the drill you should just say, “Hey, guys! Go ahead and grab a table!”. I think she might be used to the regulars who know the drill and is annoyed by new comers. But another server was taking care of us and she was very polite and helpful. They also had some yummy sounding desserts but we were full after our lunch.
Excellent fish and chips. Very nice bottle beer selection too
They have the best food. Fish tacos are amazing. The pie is even more amazing. I have no idea what the one star guy complaining about the fish and chips is talking about because their fish and chips is amazing too. Highly recommend this place.
Oh the people here were lovely and so fun, food was delicious! I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was the best burger I've had in a long time. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it again 😭
I'm so glad that I stopped here for dinner. The fish and chips were amazing! So was the homemade blackberry pie with ice cream. Everyone was so friendly, especially the owner, Diane. Can't wait to come again someday!
The best fish and chips! I love this little place! If you catch this place open it's definitely worth the stop!
I really Really wanted to like this place but I was just not that impressed. The food was only okay, the tartar sauce for the fish and chips was weird runny and had a weird twang with dill. The Bus Girl was Awful! Very rude and condescending. The Hostess was kind and did a good job, but the blonde bus girl just the worst. My sister didnt even want to tip her, I refuse to not tip someone. But I understood why my sister didn't. I liked the Clam Chowder pretty well, but next time I'm going to the nicer restaurant up the road.
A great little spot with amazing seafood and friendly service. (Highly recommend the crab melt!!)
This is definitely the place to go for some good grub! When we went it was a cool rainy day and there was a physical line actually outside the building waiting for a seat! Very cool rustic atmosphere and great food. Definitely going back!
This place was really cool and if you drive just a little more west you get a beautiful view. The food was great. Service was a delight and memorable. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.
It was ok, the fish taco wasn't all that. I've had better, kinda pricey too
Great service. Go for the fish tacos! The pais were worth the calories!
Let me just start out by saying I loathe fish. I never eat it. I ordered fish tacos from there and LOVED IT. The fish was not at all fishy, it was cooked to perfection! Literally some of the best seafood ever.
Crazy Norwegians is hand's down my favorite fish and chips location on the coast. And by coast I mean from San Fran to Astoria. The fish is always perfectly portioned, the chowder is fantastic, and the new source for the bread bowls makes the ensemble phenomenal. With the current COVID shinanagans they have out door seating but i recommend walking the 100m to the beach overlook to enjoy your haul.
Great little spot and food was wonderful! Had the clam chowder and was definitely happy with it.
I stop here often on my way to Gold Beach. The fish and chips are amazing obviously, but the menu has a ton of other options and I have never been disappointed. Crab melt, oysters, po boys, clam chowder, blackened tuna. Always super friendly service. Dogs can sit with you outside. 😊
Rainy Saturday exploring the coast. I marked this as a unique eats when I searched hole in the wall food. Absolutely great. We had fish and chips, of course, big pieces and the tartar of great per the wife.
Doesn't look like much when you pull up. A little confusing when walking in but so much WOW when you get your food. Everything looked at tasted fresh. Some of the best fish and chips you will find. Love Crazy Norwegians, Well worth the drive. We will be back many times <3
Will sell you oysters that turn out to be deep fried instead of on the shell, without telling you or writing it anywhere on the menu.No soap or paper towels in the bathroom either.
Decided to try this place for a second time. I ordered the chowder in a bread bowl and a hot dog. My wife had the fish and chips. The hot dog was ok. Bit the chowder was absolutely horrible. Not even edible. I threw it away after my second spoon full. My wife said the fish was at least hot this time but no flavor and there was sweet pickles in the tator sauce. I spent $29. And it was a waste of money. PS. I went into the restroom after a cook came out. I noticed that the sink was dry as I went to wash my hands. You have employees not washing their hands after using the restroom
Overall, the experience was exactly what I was expecting, but the food was better than that. There is no "ambiance" more or less, this is a diner. But the grunge and grit of the location matches, no exceeds, what you would expect is a place like this. To be clear and fair, this may be some of the best fish'n'chips I've ever had, and I've had a few (including London and Boston).
The food was great. We especially loved the pies and the shrimp tacos...yum.
My husband's loved the fish and chips for years, and they have a good veggie burger. When they are back on full sitdown menu, they have a variety of burger styles & you can order any of them veggie.
Good service and delicious food. Ordered the fish and chips and seafood platter.
Would give a minus score if possible. Tremendously disappointed. Had been bragging to friend about how good the Crazy Norwegian was and took her there only to be so embarrassed. Lunch was $29.00 for fish and chips and cajun shrimp. We gave a $5. tip. No drinks, not even napkins! The food was so bad that we had one piece of the fish and two shrimp and had to throw the rest away! $34. for a throw away lunch! They used to be very good, but the food was terrible, the portions were half what you used to get and the service at the window was rude! What one earth happened! Will not stop there on any future trips! So sad and such a waste of hard earned money!
Everything is made from scratch. Super delicious. I got the seafood combo and seafood chowder. My family got burgers and those were good too. Fries were awesome. Proportions were very generous.
Amazing, fresh, fast, friendly, delicious and cozy!I eat here nearly every time I am in Port Orford. The fish/shrimp tacos are in my opinion the best on the coast, in the state, and of all time! Fresh fish caught locally, fancy restaurant flavors at a reasonable price. The chowder is hardy with a soft "kick" to it.This is the type of place that will keep you coming back for more.Whether you're headed to Port Orford for whale watching, fishing, crabbing, site seeing or just passing through to your next destination, do yourself a favor and stop in for some chow!🦀🐟🍔🇸🇯
Excellent fresh fish &chips, crabcakes and chowder! Even their homemade pie is amazing! They have created a takeaway window and are doing a fine job feeding our small coastal community during a pandemic. Great folks here 👍👍
Best crab melt I’ve ever had. Friendly service and a beautiful beach just around the corner.
awesome spot. not very big and it's clearly popular, so get there early. the clam chowder was great. the owner was really nice. we'd definitely stop in again the next time we travel up the coast.
fresh fish and chips, chowder was flavorful and fresh bread bowl, I ate all the bread! usually I leave most bread bowls not eaten at other places!!
AMAZING! Having grown up on the central California coast, (Big Sur) catching and eating seafood directly from the monterey bay, I am super picky about fish. Absolutely will not eat it if the locale isnt near the water. We were referred to this place by a good buddy who also spent some time living in monterey, loves the ocean and understands the aforementioned criteria. My wife and I stopped here on our return trip from north bend and camping/jeeping at the dunes on our way home to southern Oregon, Illinois valley, and we split a 6 piece of fish and chips. WOW. The crazy Norwegian did NOT disappoint, at all. Fish was super fresh, perfectly cooked and soooo good.
I really enjoyed my experience at this cozy, fun fish & chip joint. The staff was wonderful, very kind and friendly. My wife and I ordered a large fish & chips to split and they actually split it into two plates for us! The fish portions were generous and not too battered which I found to be great. The chocolate cake was swimming in organic strawberry sauce and the pie was all filling. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. Thank you Crazy Norwegian!
We always stop at this little restaurant when we head up the Oregon Coast. I order fish and chips, but my friends tend to order shrimp! It’s a fun, unpretentious place. Then there’s a short walk to a spectacular ocean view.
Quite possibly the best fish and chips on the west coast
Great fish eatery. Modern vineland tasty creative ideas for meals. I'll be back.
A cozy spot for locals as well as tourists that stayed busy during my visit. The clam chowder was over spiced with thyme and full of potatoes, with little clam bits. Having sampled several chowders while driving up the coast, I cannot list this in my top 5.The seafood sampler was tasty with good portions. I am looking forward to other menu items on future visits.
Yummy clam chowder! Good selection of beer. I recommend going when they open to beat the crowds!
The best fish and chips I've had in the states and maybe even beyond.I got the local rockfish and my word the fish was delicious. I enjoy tartar sauce and lemon on my fish but I ate a couple pieces plain before realizing, they were so good (great flavor, texture). The fries were not the style I'd go to for fish and chips, but we're also incredibly good and very delicious. Their tartar sauce was also good, tangy but not too much and not too vinegary of ranchy. The sauce also had a fairly unique flavor. Lastly the coleslaw, which was decent. At most other restaurants I'd probably call it good, but everything else was so good it just felt decent next to them. On the vinegary side of the spectrum but not very strong and the greens weren't soaked anyways. All in all, a strong recommendation for this place and I will definitely be coming here when in the area again.
I really enjoyed the fish and chips! I got a small order (two pieces of fish) and I can't believe how many chips (fries) I got. I could only eat a couple. The clam chowder was great. I loved the light sweet flavor of the coleslaw - no mayo. However the highlight of my meal was the Marion berry pie! It's the best pie I've EVER had. There is no skimping on the filling, the crust offset the sweetness of the filling perfectly. If you're in town for the weekend, stop here your first night and order a pie to take home! You need 24 hours notice and I believe it's $25. I was only in town for an overnight work trip, but I went back for lunch the next day and got an order of the fish tacos, which were also amazing! Grabbed a piece of pie to go for the hubby and I to share later. Seriously...the get the pie!!! 😉
Super fish and chips. Wife loved her fish tacos!! Help small businesses buy local!!
Late in the morning, we went to visit the lighthouse at Cape Blanco. On our way back toward Gold Beach we were hungry and noticed this little restaurant along the highway in Port Orford and decided to take a chance! I was glad we did, because it was all great food and the lady waiting on us was so friendly! We will go again for sure!
By far the best crab cake and fish in chips I've had, the fish was literally about an inch thick. It was delicious! The crab cakes had lots of flavor and if your driving by I highly recommend stopping here and treating yourself. FYI they close during the winter starting on November 7th.
Horrible, the worst fish and chips ever. Lady was rude. I have eaten fish and chips all week while on vacation. These are nothing to compare. Gold beach has much better. With that being said, the clam chowder is amazing.... that's what one star is for. I worked in kitchens for 23 yrs and consider my opinion to be awa review.
Stopped here on our way home from the Redwoods. Cool people running the place and food was amazing. I had the fish sandwich and chowder.
We’ve loved this little restaurant for years! Best fish and chips we’ve ever had. We hope it weathers these uncertain times and hope to pick-up a couple of take-out dinners and pie when we are up there camping this August.
Great fish and shakes are good too!
If you are on US101, and come into Port Orford, you must stop, go no further, if they are closed, wait! This is the best fish and chips in the world! Be prepared for a wait because anyone who knows, knows to stop there for great seafood. Order your food to go, and walk down to the ocean view steps down the street, it is beautiful. Seriously, this should be on your bucket list, it is that good.
Cute place. Fish and chips were good, but sweet tarter sauce is not good. Fish tacos were good, but a bit greasy.
